JDFE is a relatively new company but with a highly experienced installation team who set themselves up with goal of being the best quality installers in London and the South East.
The industry perhaps has a reputation on occasion to under invest in the important things, for example not using qualified installing engineers and thereby sacrificing quality because of it. Isn’t that a terrible reflection of any company’s culture against a backdrop of safety? Whatever the current regulations are they must be complied with in a quality way with top class work underpinning the final product, not slipshod untidy work that is deemed acceptable if it gets covered over quickly!.

COMPLIANCE IS CRUCIAL
The installation of sprinkler systems and dry risers is heavily governed and reviewed. Lip-service is no longer paid to fire strategy as perhaps was the case when reflecting on the Grenfell disaster. Thankfully the culture has changed and the focus established by the Building Safety Act of 2022 reflects that focus.
All sprinkler and dry riser installations have to be compliant to the appropriate BS standards. Installations are tested to these standards by a governing body, KIWA in the case of JDFE. Engineers are trained and accredited for installation work, jobs tested and certificated again in line with the compliance standards laid down. Many jobs are signed off by NHBC (via the main contractor) in a staged process to not only check that regulations are being adhered to but to add any value or advice that can be adapted that for use thereafter on the project. The whole site team must work together – client, designer, main contractor, installer – to ensure the safety of the property and its occupants. No compromise should be made and none needs to be.
