Dry risers are a key part of ensuring the safety of people, particularly in high-rise apartment blocks where any structure is over 18m, usually equating to 6 storeys. 

They enable firefighters to connect to them and rapidly pump water up the building under pressure to enable the firefighters to draw it out to fight the fire effectively in the location/floor of the fire itself.  All JDFE designs are approved and installed to BS9990:2015.
